nindibaajimowin. My Story.

Alexandera split her time growing up near the Rock River in a trailer park in Janesville and a rental house in rural Evansville, Wisconsin. After vowing to "never exercise again" after completing her last semester of gym class, as a 300+ lb girl in high school, she found bike commuting a welcome respite from the monotony of everyday life in her twenties. Working as a bike delivery person allowed her to develop bike handling skills and confidence with navigation. Working as a bike mechanic gave her confidence that led her further into the wild. She began to bike tour around the United States alone.

In 2015, she completed the 2700+ mile Tour Divide. After a few years of riding her bike around the United States, she found herself at the starting line of an ultra-endurance bikepacking race in Idaho called the Smoke-n-Fire 420. Hoping to make some friends, she embarked on the solo journey as a way to travel with people while also being alone. It was in this space that she learned that she had the ability to ride her bike for a long time and be competitive after a lifetime of not being very competitive at anything. After a very humble first year of bikepack racing, she lined up to complete the 2700-mile Tour Divide, winning the women's race in 2018.

Alexandera left her job at the University of Minnesota and her career working for the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe in 2021 to pursue her dream of becoming a professional mountain bike racer. In 2023, she signed her first major contract with The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, an investment she'd never had before.

Sponsorships are investments in Alexandera, giving her the support she needs to grow as an athlete and community steward. She's passionate about increasing Indigenous ridership across all bike spaces. A strong advocate for Native Narrative change, Alexandera hopes to see more professional Native athletes in all sports.
